Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies

Even though this is a healthier than your average brownie, I'm still calling this a treat. It's still cake. It's delicious though and a great way to sneak in some extra fibre.



  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1 cup pitted dates
  • 1 tin black beans
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • 1 egg


  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup dark choc chips

Preheat your oven to 160 degrees and line a square cake tin with baking paper. Soak dates in hot water while melting together your peanut butter and chocolate in the microwave. Combine all of the ingredients including the water from the soaked dates into a single bowl or a food processor and blend until smooth.

Bake for 15 minutes.

Once cooled enough to handle, you can remove your brownie from the cake tin and melt together your peanut butter and chocolate. Ice and serve warm.
